First year with Impact Engineering

OVERVIEW

My journey with Impact Engineering began in May 2023 when my college projects sparked a keen interest in automation engineering. Despite being in the middle of my exams, Impact Engineering’s directors were incredibly supportive and scheduled my interview at a convenient time.

In August 2023, I started at a client location in Dublin, embarking on a structured, hands-on training program. This program included the training and implementation of automation control strategies, all under supportive supervision to ensure high-quality work. Throughout my journey, I gained exposure to various elements of control systems, including DCS, PLCs, and SCADA.

Impact Engineering stood out by allowing me to take on complex tasks, regardless of my age or initial lack of experience in certain areas. The directors were supportive and constructive, encouraging my growth and boosting my confidence in handling future tasks.

Reflecting on the past 11 months, I am proud of the work delivered with the guidance of my team. I have worked on various aspects of DCS, from CMs, EMs, and Phases to Recipes and Graphics. Additionally, I gained exposure to PLCs and SCADA, including the hardware side of these systems. I also got involved in system infrastructure troubleshooting and on-site support tasks.

This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of the Impact Engineering staff and my colleagues from the client side, to whom I owe immense gratitude for sharing their knowledge. What I appreciated most about working with Impact Engineering was being treated with respect, Kindness and appreciation. The management ensured my needs were met, and I continuously progressed.
